GiCheon Myeong

Myeong - an inscription on monument: a precept: a motto: a constant guide: a daily (favorite) motto

“GiCheon Myeong” is a teaching that has been transmitted by nameless GiCheon sages’ word of mouth or orally. It has 64 letters that begin with “Gi” and end with “Cheon (the Heavens).” There’s no trace remained to presume where GiCheon came from and how it was called. But the one thing what we can guess about how it was named is based on the fact that GiCheon Myeong starts with “Gi” and ends with “Cheon.

It is said that “GiCheon Myeong” describes every characteristics of the GiCheon curricula (which are static discipline, moving discipline, and mind discipline). It also mentions that of the health, physiological and psychological benefits of GiCheon, and the real goal to practice GiCheon (i.e. how GiCheon practitioner should live). But its whole contents can’t be systematically explained since it has been transmitted orally without the systematic order for a very long time.
