One should be able to hold 6 basic poses in a static way at least for 5 minutes, being minimum, to learn GiCheon Martial arts It is said that a human being is a microcosm of the universe. Therefore, movements or martial arts following the principles of the universe (or nature) will not bring harmness or damages to trainees and can even make them much powerful and flexible. All GiCheon movements hold principles of universe (or nature).
GiCheon martial art contains many profound principles and contents so it is called “MuHak (Mu: martial art, Hak: science or study).” MuHak (a study of martial art) is not a mere fighting with others or learning techniques but just a combat and struggling against innerself as a sprout overcomes any environment (i.e. hardship) and finally becomes a strongly grown tree.
